Wood inlay with stonewash blade?

Hi,

Anyone here with a wood inlay Seb and a stonewash blade? Am about to get my first Seb and am deciding what blade finish I'd like. I know the standard for the wood inlay models is satin, but does a stone wash look good on them as well?

And what about a sand-blasted handle? Would that look good on the wood inlay models or does the polished handles look better?

Opinions anyone?

Thanks,
Cary (from Australia!)

Hi Cary,

I've never seen a wood inlayed Sebenza with stonewashed blade or beadblasted handle. The thing about all wood inlayed Sebs is that they leave the factory not only with satin finished blades, but handles as well. You would have to either order a stonewashed bladed wood inlayed Sebenza, or the next closest thing might be sending one in to have the blade stonewashed. Being down under as you are, that might be too time consuming and costly. Not to sure about beadblasting a wood inlayed handle; again, this may be something you would have to order direct from the factory. Best to call and ask.

One more thought is the Micarta inlayed Sebs. Not wood of course, but the blade and handle are already stonewashed/beadblasted.
;)

i woder if i could send my small classic seb back and get them to put the satin finish on the handle?? that would look great , maybe no grip though.

Thank you for your responses, I could not decide so I've now solved the problem by ordering a wood inlay (Lignum) as well as a Micarta !!
