Does anyone know how much replacement wood inlays are? I’m considering getting a sebenza 31 in box elder burl and was wondering if a inlay gets damaged over time can they be replaced and if so how much does that typically cost? Also if a wood inlay is damaged can you have a different inlay material, say micarta put on instead? Thank in advance for taking the time to share and help out a first time buyer.

It’s best to call CRK directly and find out the particulars. I’d be more concerned about the turn over time. The box elder is stabilized and will hold up without issues. I’ve read once where wood inlays warped, I recall it was due to the wood staying wet long enough to cause it to warp. Don’t recall if it was replaced with same in kind or different inlays.

I believe the cost is 250. I know they won't switch wood for micarta or the other way around. I am not sure if you can go from box elder to bog oak or other woods. They want to keep the knife in the original formation. I'd love to order a damascus blade for my starbenza.

I would just use the knife and trust the durability of the product. My edc is a Mnandi which is wood and its been fine. Some people add renaissance wax.
