Wood inlays

I'm considering my options for a Small Classic Seb. and some of the wood-inlaid ones are quite attractive. I'm wondering if the wood is pressure-treated or something else, and how much maintenance is required, if at all? How about water or other liquids seeping under the inlays? How well does micarta compare? All my knives up until now have had synthetic scales.

they are stablized so there shouldn't be any problems

the micarta is more grippy though and I do like it very much
