After getting the large regular, I got the fever for the small classic. I sure do like the looks of the wood, bit I guess the micarta would be sturdier. Which would you all get?

If you are going to use this Small Classic as a "USER" then perhaps go with the Micarta- it has a blasted frame and the inlays are very grippy.

It is meant to take a bit more use/abuse.

Bear in mind that the Micarta Sebenzas do not come with the leather slip pouch and that the woods/ivories do have the pouch included.

Hope this helps.

Take care, Neil

I like to have wood. I walk around with wood all of the time. It often comes in handy.

Wood feels good in my hand.

I am just now getting ready to carry my Sebs exclusively, and am already thinking about trading my micarta inlay large and small for wood inlay ones. I have heard that snakewood, for instance, is not the best wood for an EDC. Okay for a safe queen, but not for a user. On the other hand, bloodwood and ironwood are great choices, for users. I am leaning towards ironwood.

I recently purchased a Micarta Classic and have used it a few times. Nice and all as it is, it doesn't have the character of a woodie. Plain and simple.

My Sebenza is generally only used for lighter stuff as I also carry a little fixed blade so the main benefits of Micarta are lost on me with a Sebbie. And it's a real rum deal compared to the beauty and feel of the wood inlays.

Certainly a useful material and I'm not writing it off, but it's just a little too hard looking to me compared to wonderful range of exotic woods which are available.

I think the wood looks nicer, but I really like how the micarta feels. For me the micarta wins.

I don't have either at the moment, but I'm planning on a micarta soon. I know that micarta is very tough and will stand up to work...and that's why I carry a knife. That said, the wood looks nicer. If you don't intend to do what may be classified as hard work for a folder you may want the wood. And it is my understanding too that ironwood is very strong.

Good luck on your choice.

:)

Wood is sure pretty! Never had any issues with mine not holding up...

And the polished blade is nice too

I have a Large CE Micarta on the way...........:D

Sorry, but I had to tell somebody who cares, as my wife does not.

I own a couple of wood inlay classics (large and small) but I really like the feel of the micarta. I'd prefer a polished blade though

Gone and done it! Found a African Blackwood at a good price, and pulled the trigger. I need tires for my truck, but life is short. Am I crazy?

Nope -- African blackwood is a really nice one to find. Congrats!

Just be careful in the rain with those slick tires...

In three years what would them brand new tires be worth? Now ask your self, in three years what will your sebbie be worth?

Send her back in to CRK for a reblast and tumble, and shes good as new. You could still pull 350 for her anyday of the week. Try that with them old used up tires. :D

Wonder how a large blackwood wood be? Gotta start saving.:)

I'm partial to my large serrated Micarta because I feel it's the ultimate all around EDC Sebenza. I have EDCed my LE woods and find them to very durable. Jigged rosewood classics are also very cool.;)
