Will using min-wax wood hardener to stabilize wood that has some moisture still present in the wood work? Or would this be a waste of time and money. The other day I was lucky enough to acquire a fow pices of exotic wood some red malee about a 4-5 pound chunk, tulip wood, figured walnut and a 2-3 pound block of coco bolo some really nice wood in trade for a knife blade that he will be completing the finished knife well I havent had any problems with any of wood except the malee. The guy I got it from said it was a year old and shouldnt have any problems with it so I had it cut and its been in the house for a week and half a it starting to crack around the edges so I put it in Ziploc bags and I am going to remove and replace small wood chips every couple days and do the waiting thing. I am experimenting I did put a 1x1x4a mason jar covered it with wood hardener ad stabilize it like I have done before with some maple I am just hoping that I havent wasted a nice piece of wood and seven dollars worth of wood hardener, oh yea one last thing should I leave the wood that is in the Ziploc bags in the house in the cool of the air-conditioning or in the warm humid garage or put them in the garage. Any advice would be helpful
