I am sure that this question has been asked before, But I am going to ask it anyway.
What do you full time makers use to seal the wood of your handles. I have some curly Red wood at home and would like to use it as handle material, but I am not sure on what is the best way to seal the wood.
Product names and instructions would be great.
Thanks

Thanks Mike.
I have heard that Watco Danish Oil is good stuff to use, but don't know. Never used it.

Watco is A#1. I used to build custom furniture and it's the only thing we ever used - great stuff!

Todd, yeah, Watco is a good sealer. I use it quite a bit. The other stuff, that I gave you the link for, just fills faster on open grained woods. :)

I think Red Wood is a little soft for knife handles unless you have it stabilized.I don't think Wood hardener by min wax wood do the job. Need a little more rezin. What is the name of the specialists in stabilizing.WSSI??
I have a large burl slab that I wood like to use.
Check out the old threads.
Take Care
