greetings. I am on my tenth knife, making some mistakes, but generally getting better with each effort. I made a 3 inch paring knife for my 95 year old mother, using koa, full tang, no bolsters. It has three coats of teak oil on it. Any suggestions on a sealer that will keep crud and moisture at bay for awhile?

The teak oil is a sealer to me. Good this is that the oil allows for rebuilding the protection. I would just let the user know to apply minerial oil or even reguilar kitchen oil to keep the oil in th ewood as a protectant. HEll...I even use spray pam at home :)

Just ordered some, should be here soon and will give it a try on spalted burl wood. The folks gave good reports over the phone.
