WOODCRAFT Horizontal Wet Stone Grinder

That's really interesting 5pins. I have the TORMEK unit myself which is a low speed, wet grinder. This unit truly looks like they've derived the principles of the TORMEK unit to make it flat and easier to work with.

Although I have excellent luck working with my TORMEK I would love to try this tool out for sure. I'll probably end up getting one if they are as good as they purport that they are.

Also the few items I have bought from "Woodcraft" have been good quality. Thanks for the info :)

Has anyone used one? I sharpen knives only.... EdgePro, paper wheels, etc. I would like a sharpener like this horizontal grinder IF I can use it to reprofile the edges to 10 degrees per side. It would make my work much faster. I wish they would have posted a copy of the manual.

5Pins, I bought one of those grinders from Woodcraft. I tried it on my knives and realized that it's really not designed for that. Since it only spins one way, you have to grind edge forward on one side, and edge back on the other. I don't like that. The stone is also so fine that it does not grind very quickly. I don't use it anymore.

I think it is designed for chisels, and other woodworking tools. I would get myself a harbor freight 30x1 belt sander and get a couple of each sanding belt and a leather belt, it should get you a great edge and will reprofile. But you need to watch the blade temp.
