Woodgrain kydex!!!!

Good news for those of us who love the look of wood and the stability & durability of kydex sheaths. The folks at Kleerdex now make kydex sheet in woodgrain patterns. Grain patterns offered are: Pearwood, Riga Birch, Black Cherry, Wild Apple, Spiced Fruitwood and Honey Maple.

The downside is that the sheets have a thickness of 0.042” (1.05mm), which is a bit too thin for sturdy sheath bodies IMHO (0.060" and 0.080" being typical).

I've seen this down at TKS, and played with some there. Nice stuff. One of the things that jumped to my mind was using it for the actual 'work' part of the sheath, covered in leather, and exposed through a window. It's thin enough to sew through. Haven't done it yet, but...
