I picked up some Woodmen of the World ceremonial axes (aluminum) from a guy who was selling them as Halloween props. I don't know if these were off the shelf handles, nice lines and grain orientation . Probably make at least one coat rack, as one handle is warped and one head has some dings . The 33 inch handle weighs 14 ozs. about the same as a house handle octagon I have. Edge is at least 1/8 thick, unsharpened.

The paint was I believe a recent addition, attempt at "Halloweening" it up. Came right off with some citrus stripper. I'm more of a "user" that a "collector" axe buyer, couldn't help myself when the five of these called my name lol.

What a hoot! I'm sure some entrepreneur survivalist outfitter would happily tout these as an ultimate light-carry bear deterrent and emergency chopping implement. Those obviously vintage handles are exquisite!

those appear to be great handles. what length are they? are the aluminum heads wedged properly? do they appear to be hickory?

nice to see a proper fawn foot swell, with or without the tip cut off. also nice and slim.

They appear to be hickory, I weighed them and compared it to a House handle. The length is 33"and the heads are all loose without wedges.
