Hey Guys,

Here is the woodsmonkey hut review, hot off the presses. In it, you should find some helpful info on canvas tents. There will be a follow up video shortly

Good review Joe...Can you explain the benefits to me of a floorless design and why that eliminates the necessity of going outside when nature calls???

Note to self........Do NOT camp with Joe if it looks like rain.

How many people can fit in there? Is that a 4 person tent, or 5 person tent?

Probably up to 8 if you don't mind the lack of living space, maybe even more.

You just designate a corner to pee in at night, and if you feel ultra sanitary, dig a hole before hand. Just pee and go back to sleep. It'll be gone by morning.

great tent!

i take issue :D though with the "pee in a corner, it will be gone by morning" method of relieving ones self......

A) it can stink depending on a person body chemistry and foods/liquids they have eaten

B) it can attract flies, midges etc

C) i dont see any hand sanitation (wash bucket with bleach) being mentioned........hope your not prepping dinner for the crew after peeing in the corner ;)

D) your tent is right above a water source, and the ground slope is towards said water source......if you got 8+ tenants piddling away in the corner each night.........yuk

there is a reason latrines are situated away from camps and food prep areas............

just saying...:D

You know who's getting a blanket party when this happens!

It seems like I've used canvas tents most of my life, starting with the tent my dad gave me that buttoned together in the middle. I've had plenty of modern nylon type too.

I'm hunting up in Northnorthern Tenn. the first of next month, it could get cold for this southern Florida boy so I'm taking the hunters lodge with the two dog stove. NO peeing in the corner!! I place a sheet of plastic tarp 12' by 12' then a canvas drop cloth then a 20th century Persian wool carpet down, then a piece of plywood to protect the carpet from the stove. I use a medium size Ragu plastic jar for the midnight run, the small liquid laundry soap bottles work very well too, one or the other goes with me when I canoe.
