I like the fact that each time I've gone there's evidence of other people using it.
The well established fire pit has kept anyone from burning down the woods.
And judging by the empty 12 gauge shell we found last time, someone has used it as a hunting blind.
But no one has vandalized it or littered the area.

Great pics, cool knives, and looks fun as hell. What is that blue handled behemoth? That thing is sick

That's one I made, called Stormbreaker.
Now that the handles are contoured to my hands and it's been through some use and sharpening cycles, it's performing quite nicely.:)

I sure have no worries about it breaking. When people suggest a hatchet over a knife, they weren't envisioning this.;)

Glad you got out stabby! Looks like a fun day.

It was quite a fun day.:)
And with the storms since last I was there, the supply of dead wood was replentished. As much as I like chopping stuff, it is not my desire to defoliate the planet...besides, the dead stuff tends to burn better.

I'm impressed that the others who have been out there in the meantime haven't littered the place. I think there must be a higher level of decency amongst those who venture into the woods. I'll bet more hiikes into the woods and overnighters for kids would do more for environmental awareness than all the educational programs that have been attempted combined.

Cool pics man, looks like a fun area. I'll be glad when it cools off enough that I actually want to start a fire again...

The weather was perfect that day (for a change), and the previous 2 days had rained a bunch, so we didn't have to worry about fire issues.:)
