Hey busse-folks...

some of the wilderness and survival guys are getting together in CT on September 5-7 on an island in the Farmington river behind Mainstreem Canoe and Kayak on route 44 in new hartford.

We are going to just hang out and practice different survival skills like shelter building and primitive (and modern) fishing. Everyone is going to bring plenty of blades to play with and compare. Everyone is welcome to bring their trade goods, not restricted to knives.

After hearing the reputation of all the busse-nuts, i just want to mention that we want to generally avoid alcohol. a beer or two is fine, but we want to focus on the skills and knives and comraderie, and blades are alot safer without booze. ;)

Food and tents etc are going to mostly be individual matters, but if anyone has things like an extra tent or some extra folding chairs for around the fire they are welcome to bring and share just in case.

we can rent canoes and kayaks from the shop if we want, i have heard rumors of reduced rates.

here is the address:

questions comments concerns etc just post them here or pm or email me.

So either RSVP here or just show up. In my limited experience, half the guys that RSVP don't show anyways, so it sortof defeats the purpose.

and last but not least, i just want to extend a thanks to the new WSS co-mod kevin estella for getting us permission to use the land and for being such a great resource for woods info and for being simply a great guy.

Man, I wish I lived up North more. Would love to make it, but too far and it looks like the wifey has a lot of the Summer booked already...

There has to be some Ct. HOGs up there. Chime in guys! Looks like a good outing!

Not my neck of the woods I'm afraid... But I have been watching the Midwest wilderness and survival thread, seen a few people near Chicago trying to put together a meet

I hope some Hogs in the CT area can attend and share their blades. It sounds like a good time, not all Hogs are drunken all the time, some of us drink rarely and judiciously.
