Woods knives and neckers

Here are a few of my more recent blades.

The first two are what I call my woods blades. The blades are 1/8" ATS-34 heat treated by Paul Bos. The handle has a 3/4 tang with no sharp corners (under the scales) to prevent any stress risers. The handle scales are canvas and burlap "lukarta" that I made myself. The pins and thong hole liners are carbon fiber. They are both glass bead blasted for final finish and are very light and comfortable. The dollar is not to show that I'm gangsta, it's for reference.

The next two are a couple of neckers. Also made from ATS-34 heat treated by Paul Bos. I've been wearing the smaller orange one regularly for six months and it's light and unobtrusive.

And this last picture is my now 7 year old showing off his tactical butter knife that I made him. Sharp as a dickens and rounded off point. Connor's pretty sharp too with an already wicked sense of humor.

Once again, thanks for looking.

Those are really nice, your son's knife isn't bad either! I would love to see more of your work. Is that necker forged? It has some texture that looks like forge marks.

I like em ! Nice work on the The woods knives handles, the carta looks great and the shape looks very comfy ! What are you using for the BLACK handle pins ? Whatever it is looks great and is unique.

great looking blades man.... i reallylike those 2 neckers.... drop me a line if you make anymore...:)

That tactical butter knife is sweet!!!

All your knives look great, but I really dig those two neckers!!
Good job!!:)

Very nice. I like the look of the middle neckers. They could be very useful to me.

No, it's stock removal. The flat bar stock is hot rolled and has that texture. I flat sand the flats with 320 to 600 grit lightly enough to just clean it up and leave the texture.

It's carbon fiber. The rod I bought just for this purpose and the carbon fiber tube is an arrow shaft. It looks good but is actually kind of a mess to work with on lighter colored handle materials. When you sand the handle you get streaks of black carbon on the handle material. It doesn't come off by washing, so you have to carefully sand it off without hitting the pin and getting more on it, buuuuut, you want the pins to be flat and not raised, so you have to sand them too.

Thanks for the compliments and questions.
