Been drooling at the Woodsman for a while now, looking for pictures I stumbled upon a picture on the web with one labeled as the Woodman Special.
Looking at the pics It seemed to have a longer blade?

Was there ever a Special Woodsman?
Please feel free to post pics and flaunt'em along this tread

Back when I took orders, I made a Woodsman with a 2" longer blade for a customer. So, yes. There was one.

A woodsman with a 7-1/2 inch blade sounds interesting, I bet that thing is something else. Something I would have loved at a specific time in my youth.

I have a couple of that model. One is a little bit "special" in that it is 3/16" thick instead of 5/32". Great blades!

I just recently picked up a Woodsman in a trade. It immediately became one of my favorites. It will see extensive camp time.

i also have been eyeing the woodsman for a little while. looks like the perfect knife i have been looking for. sigh. i keep checking my local flyers to see if i can find a coupon. ;) :D

I don't have a pic of the Woodsman alone. I just cropped the pic I have in the Fiddleback user thread. This gives a size comparison to a Hunter.

Thanks for clearing that up. 7+ inches of woodsman sounds massive. Ill have to start saving my money for a "regular" one though....

The Woodsman is kinda special. It is a big knife that handles like a small knife. Especially with the tang tapered. I really love making them.

Thanks for that. Being a woodsman and all :) I may just have to replace my Hunter with a Woodsman in the future. I bet a tapered tang version of it really handles nicely too.

I'm propably stupid bringing attention to the woodsman model as they dont seem to be the fastest moving in the friday batch.
Been close to buying whenever they pop up just never saw "the one". I'll keep looking. Its definately alot more slender than the hunter which I always thought was "chubby". Never ever handled one though.

I have handled them at Blade. It is definitely at the top of my list for a knife I would choose in a one-knife in the woods long term scenario. Nice point for detail work, and large enough to handle the heavy lifting chores.

I wanted a Woodsman for quite a while, but then decided to pick up a Hunter. I found that it was "big enough" for me -- you might consider a Hunter if you're seeking a larger bushcrafter, but either your budget puts the Woodsman a bit out of reach or one's not available.
