I became aware of this fine maker a few years back through an article that was written on him in either Blade or KI. Wish I could remember the issue. But, I believe the story was written by or through a friend of his, Merle Spencer. At the time, I had lamented never meeting Mr. Woodcock, given that I was a regular visitor to Nehalem on the Oregon Coast... but had never heard of him until then, after his passing. I vowed that if I ever had an opportunity to purchase or trade for one of his knives, I would make up for lost time. That happened last night. A friend had brought a bunch of recent purchases to show me and one of the knives was the one pictured. I didn't take a shot of the sheath but it is also done by the maker.
I would love to know more about this man, his blade making methods etc. Anyone out there?
