I just shipped a forge to Rhode Island! I've now hit all 50 plus DC, Panama, Switzerland, Canada, and Australia this year!

Congrats! Get you a corkboard, a map and a package of thumbtacks. On slow or difficult days, it makes a person smile to look at a visual representation of what they've accomplished so far :)

Make a large cutout of an Atlas Forge profile ( liker your avatar) in plywood. Drill fifty 1/16" deep by 1" round pockets in it (Forstner bit). Paint it black, and place a State Quarter in each depression in the order you shipped to each state.

Haha, I have that same map! I should have used those type of pins, the regular ones are too "coarse."

Only 26 states, France, Germany, and Canada so far.

How do you think I figured out that I hit all the states? I've been waiting on Rhode Island and South Dakota for a while.

Next step? "Rock-band tour" style t-shirt. To wear (and offer) at all the shows where you peddle your wares, and offer as a bonus to new customers.

You may think I'm teasing... I'm not. T-shirts, stickers, and other "promo stuff" work very well to expand the brand, once what you're doing is established. :)

I'd wear an Atlas Forge shirt! XXL please!

See? :)

Everyone loves t-shirts and stickers... even if you barely break even on them, they make you seem more "real" and "professional", and help build a sense of community and brand loyalty... and everyone sporting them is advertising for you.

On the other hand, a couple guys bought the rights to the "Von Dutch" logo several years back, and with a bit of "marketing magic", they made a fortune on nothing but hats, t-shirts and stickers. They never designed or built or painted a hot-rod like the actual Von Dutch did... they didn't even own or work in the factories that made the t-shirts and hats. They just marketed the logo. So, there's that... ;)
