WooHoo! It's Sunday. "Persian" Day

Sunday morning, slip on the jeans, grab the Persian, put on the coffee. I've had this knife since Christmas and I am still in my infatuation phase (meaning lots of fondling, little cutting). It has been my day-off carry and I reach for it first thing. This is a great knife and I think it is the best value in the Spyderco line-up right now. Classy looks, handle ergonomics that rival or surpass  the Wegner (that resides in my other pocket), slicing ability par excellence, and it opens with a very reassuring click. I don't know if you can do it much better than this. I highly recommend it as a "must have" with two, well three, caveats. One, dual liners make it heavy. May not be suitable for dress pants. Two, even though my hand really locks into the handle the micarta is slick. Might not be an issue, but something to consider depending on your potential uses. And C, personal preference would be for the addition of a thumb ramp. All minor issues unless your plan is to gut a deer in your suit. :D

I always give my lovely wife a Christmas knife wish-list. This year, as soon as I saw a pic of the Persian, I told her to tear up the list. Kudos to Ed Schempp and Sal for a job well done.

The Persian is mighty comfy, but I don't know if it's that comfy. ;)

I love my Persian. I agree that it is probably the best value in the current Spyderco line up. Fit and finish on mine are excellent. Micarta scales and real bolsters give it a great look. Mr. Schempp did a great job in the design and Spyderco executed it flawlessly.

It is my "Sunday-go-ta-meetin" knife as well. It's a beauty!

Could we get a picture of the Chinook II and the Persian together please?

The same perspective would be excellent.

That's funny... When I first held the Persian, I immediately thought of the Wegner too. It's about the same size, tip up, and has similar ergonomics.

Have you tried holding the Persian in reverse grip? It couldn't feel any better! :)

My only complaint about the Persian is that the Micarta scales smell weird. :p

Here's one that gives a good size comparison.

Actually, I meant to bring that up in my original post, Cerulean. It does feel natural in every grip and I believe that in his original post on the Persian Ed stated that as one of his design goals.
