Woohoo! Scored a Galley V!

Thanks to the joys of Froogle (the Google shopping search engine) I found what was probably the only available Galley V sharpener online today, and at a bargain price... $24.55!

I would tell you where, but the lady checked stock and they only had one left.

It won't get to me in time to sharpen the xmas carving knives, but I'll be all set up next year!

It is like the sharpmaker only bigger (longer rods) and mounted from my understanding. If anyone knows where to get one, send me a PM!

I still have my old Galley V sharpening unit in almost brand new condition. I also last year bought up 4 of the extra "cats eye" stones made for that unit. Just how collectible is that one? Also one other sidebar. I had posted this on the Spyderco Forum. Those "cats eye" stones are a great tool for sharpening the plain edge version of the Dodo. The shape of the stone and the configuration of the blade really go hand in hand. Congratulations on finding the Galley V. I won't give mine up.

No "Foxhole" I think now you have a reason to hate me. I think I bought the last 3 Galley V stones ( 600F) they had left last summer. When I found out how sharp they would get my plain edge Dodo I wanted to make sure that I had a couple of "back up units". I have spent quite a bit of time today looking for another Galley V kit and stones as well. NO CIGAR!! I'm sorry. You can hate me now. JD Spydo

Now I am going to have to take up New Zealand Phil's offer to "come on down". On second thought maybe I can get the "Gunting-Girl to protect me. She looks pretty & vicious both. I just got another plain edge Gunting--- Oh NO!!!
Now I got 2 of you after me!!! I wonder if I can get political asylum in the Great Spyder Factory????
