I got a Sharpmaker for Christmas and just recently got around to working over my plainedge Police. After having been somewhat less than sharp for some time, my knife has gained new vigor and vitality in the form of a perfect, mirror-bright 30 degree edge. It's so fricking amazing, I'd almost forgot how sharp these knives could get. The only negative factor I can think of would be the funny-looking bald patches on my arm. No biggie, I wear long sleeves most of the time. Of course, now I have to get the ultra-fine stones and see if I can get it sharp enough to cut a hole though space-time. . .

I actually enjoyed the video that came with it. The brief history of knives and sharpening was unexpected and very informative. Never a dull moment. . .

Say "proud2" don't forget to get the diamond stones you can buy for that kit. They really are a lifesaver when you have a knife that is really "dinged" up. They really do a great quick job of re-profiling. You will like the ultrafine stones as well. I use the ultrafine stones to just simply touch up or to steel the blade and it works like a charm. Also you can get both sets of those stones on ebay. There is a guy who goes by "razorsharpknife" who usually has both types in stock. If you want you can PM me for his phone number. ;)
