I just received a brand new Wegner Pro Hunter courtesy of Blade Art(after sending them $95, of course). So far, this knife has more than surpassed all of my expectations. Based on forum discussion, I sold my Military to buy this knife and have absolutely no regrets. Nothing wrong with the Military mind you, I just like this one even better. No "real" use yet, but quickly, I love the blade shape, opening hole(better than round to me), 4 way clip carry and the dual nested liners. It is a touch thinner than my G10 Police and weighs in at just over 4oz. Tip down carry puts it deep in your pocket. I now see why most rave about Wegner's Spyderco collaboration. This knife is awesome. You can view an extensive review here:Pro Hunter Review

I have been looking at picking one of these up for myself. When it first came out it caught my eye right away. s30v is probably my favorite blade steel right now and I love the overall lines of the knife. I just may place my order for one today from bladeart.

Probably would make a good pass-around. I think people would be surprised at the potential for this blade as more than a hunter.

I've been a big fan of this knife, once I learnd how to correctly spell the guy's name! Sorry, Mr. Wegner.

I believe that a knife like this has better utility than a lot of the more snazzy knives that grab the headlines.

If we got into the old debate of 'what would you want if you could only have one knife,' I'd be hard pressed to decide between the Buck 110 and the Wegner.

:D :D :D

Now you guys know why I've been singing this designs praises for so long. I loved the Spyderco version, and the Blade-tech is even better.

I can't imagine how the Wegner Pro Hunter could possibly be thinner/narrower overall than the G-10 Police. The G-10 Police has no liners and a thinner blade. My Spyderco Wegner, with one liner and a thicker blade, is significantly thicker than my Police. I wouldn't be interested in the Pro Hunter if the blade wasn't as thick as the Spydie Wegner, and if it is, the Pro Hunter would have to be thicker...wouldn't it? Please give me Pro Hunter overall thickness measurement.

I don't have a G-10 police so I can't directly compare. The Pro Hunter has dual nested liners so the liners add no thickness to the G-10 scales.

Self,
Don't have calipers, but I am sitting here looking at both knives and the Pro Hunter is just slightly thinner than the G10 Police(actually could be a toss-up, but to the naked eye PH looks thinner). No Lie.
To top it all off, the Pro Hunters blade is thicker. Can't give you a comparison to the Spydie Wegner as I don't have one.
BTW, my G10 Police has a single liner, clip side. Pro Hunter has dual, nested liners.

Not sure I'd give up my Military for the Pro Hunter, but it is a super well done knife - just quite a bit smaller than the Millie.

I do appreciate the V Hole, and Blade Tech clearly has some excellent QC- the plentiful notches on the spine, and super refined work on the G10, feel like money. Wegner/BT could probably get more for this knife than he's asking.

The whole knife is put together as well or better than any Spyderco, and that says a lot to me. Very compact, and a useful blade design. It's my truck folder, but it would make a great EDC as well.

I really like my VG10 Impala also, but the PH is lighter, thinner, and of equal or better quality.

I got mine "free" as a match prize (the match cost me probably $500 to shoot though, so "free" is relative) and it quickly became a favorite.

OK, measured mine. My Police, G10 with no liners, measures 8mm thick. My Wegner, with one clip-side liner, measures 10mm, which I guess is the same as the Pro Hunter.

So you guys have a Police over 10mm? Could you measure and confirm that? If you do, that blows my mind that Spyderco would thicken it so much! I'm hoping it's an optical illusion, because even 10mm is too thick for a Police IMO.

My Police has a GIN-1 steel blade and has to be 6 or 7 years old by now. I knew they changed the steel, but I didn't know they went to liners...maybe that's what thickened it up? I like not having liners because the G10 stays plenty stiff, and it's narrow and light, and rides very comfortably in the pocket. I don't know why they changed it.

BTW, I'm definitely getting a Pro Hunter, soon before the price goes up, because it is a great knife/value.

Lately, I have been hearing a lot of good things about the Wegner Pro Hunter.
