Wool blanket Reccomendations Needed

I need something for throwing over ones self for those weekend afternoon naps on the couch.

The wife likes to use a couple of those knitted afgan things which are 1 hairs width away from useless. I like a big fleece blanket, but it's got a somewhat cheezy picture of some geese on it so the wife hides it.

So I'm thinking possibly a nice good quality but not too heavy wool blanket.

I've considered Filson, but the blankets are supposedly heavier then the Machinaw cloth which would be too heavy.

I'm considering the white Bay Point Blankets that seem to be in all the catalogs this year. Seems attractive enough to have out, but warm. Here's a link to one:

Anybody have a Bay Point blanket? OR similar?

Thanks

Ive been a lurker for a while but I thought I might as well register and post.

So here it goes: Why not get an original Hudson's Bay Wool Blanket I have one, it must be 40 years old and its still great and warm. Get the original not an LLBean copy.

not sure if this link works:

otherwise just goto www.hbc.com thend bed&bath then bedding

mine is solid blue im not sure if they still make that.

Thanks for the link. There's a bunch of "copies" the HBC by all sorts of manufacturersas well. I don't have a feel for the differences in quality, there are quite a bit difference in price.

For example Woolrich makes one of that style that also is made in England, by woolrich (Pendleton). I assume HBC blankets are made in England as well.

There's a bunch on ebay of course.

I would go with a Pendleton. I have one and it's the perfect weight and very well constructed. The designs are classic too. Can't go wrong. I can't imagine making a simple wool blanket any better than they do.

Another vote for Pendleton.I have had one in an American Indian design for about ten years. It is my wintertime Lazeeboy blanket and it is very pretty and very comfy.

They make these things in a large selection of designs and colors and have made some of the patterns for over 100 years, odds are you will find one that you will like.

I have looked and looked myself and the very best throw I found was at a Harley Davidson dealership. Very lightweight but absolutly warm to snuggle in on a cold afternoon. Can't beat it. And who doesn't like flames!!!

I am starting to itch madly, just thinking about covering myself with a wool blanket!
