Wool Jacket

I am gonna be in UK for a few months. It is awfully windy and cold out here, can someone suggest a nice formal wool jacket? I have a lot of good casual ones but people out here like to keep it strictly formal. Even a longer wool coat will do, budget is $250 tops.
 
Look at quality wool coats like Filson, Empire Canvas, even LL bean and Woolrich. Or check out a thrift shop and see what you can find.
 
No one chiming in so here goes the foot. If I were there today looking for a semi-dress wool coat, I would go to Marks & Spencer or better yet a Marks & Spencer Outlet shop (there is one in Woolwich). Check out the sweaters too. Be warned: I haven't been there since 1985 when a dollar was worth more than a pound!
 
I got a Navy issue 100% wool peacoat off that bidding site and it's become my favorite cold weather jacket, I would definitely recommend one, I do wish I would have gotten a long size since the sleeves are cut military short for some reason.
