Finally pulled the trigger on a couple of new knives. Had to sell off my Canadian Special to a nice fellow in Oregon to get it done, but there are two new EDCs coming my way.

Both are classics in their own right. You might say that I took the advice to "buy both."

First up, the indomitable Benchmade Mini-Grip in 154CM with a hollow grind and that remarkable Spydie hole. I got the blue one.

(hope the seller doesn't mind me borrowing some band width.)

I was leaning toward the Ritter Grip in S30V and yellow. While I'm still willing to accept one as a gift (hint), I just couldn't come to grips (ha!) with getting one knife when I could get two. Actually tossed and turned most of last night trying to figure out which way to go (you know you're a knifenut when...).

Once I decided to go with two knives, and I found some grips cheap on SoonerStateKnives, I was initially going to go with a full size grip and a mini, but they didn't have the big one in orange. A guy on another forum just sold one, too. UGH! I just didn't want a big grip that wasn't a bright color.

So, I jumped ship and landed on the waved Delica. Oh, yeah, baby!

What can I say? EDC perfec...well, it's really nice. It'll be my urban let's-take-the-dog-for-a-walk knife.

Here's the piece de resistance: My wife still owes my a knife when I hit my goal weight. Gotta think of something that would compliment these two nicely, but can't cost a ton of money (Under $70). I'd love to find a full-size grip, but more than likely it'll be one of the following in green or purple:

First thoughts, with pics to follow:

1) I opened the mini-grip first. My first thought was WOW, that is a very thin blade down where the hollow grind is. I mean, super thin. The only knife that I've had that has opened this easily was the D'Allara ball-lock. And it's light, but not as light as some threads had made me to believe. And while it's a smidge thicker than the Delica, it isn't fat by any means, not even "beefy" and I carry small knives. It's also super sharp, but not as sharp as Delica out of the box. Their grind angles might be different, though. All in all, a fantastic knife. I slipped it right into pocket. Yes, the clip is aggressive, but it doesn't bother me yet. Love this knife! My wife opened it one time and said something like, "Did you get yourself one?"

2) The waved Delica. Very sharp out of the box, but my Tenascious was sharper. It was stiff opening, much tighter than it should have been. I'll have to get a Torx (what size?) to loosen it. You know how you push the lock in and flip the knife to 1/2 close the blade?--not on mine. It doesn't move. I'll fix it, though. Not a problem, just an inconvenience. Another little annoyance was the Spydie hole on the Delica. You guessed it, I had to take wet/dry to it to knock off the sharp edge. That sharp edge was also found on one side of the wave. Fixed those no problem, but ain't it a shame that the Grip's Spyder hole was PERFECT? The way feature works wonderfully, and the blade shape is just about perfect.

For now, I'm carrying the Grip. It was just right out of the box and I'm enjoying the toy that came with it--the Axis lock. Fun!
