WOOT!!! Scored another broad axe

I just won another broad axe on the bay. It's a sweet Kelly Charleston. Of course I'll have to make another handle for it.

It has a nice clean maker's stamp plus a CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) stamp. It appears to have light rust with almost no pitting. Neither the heel nor toe shows significant wear. I'm pleased as punch with it.

Sorry If I stepped on anyone's toes. Rest assured it went to a very good home.

Wow! That one is very nice! Looks like with minimal cleaning up it will look brand new. I am sure it will be mighty fine when you get done with her. Congrats!!!

looks real good. watched a hewer do his magic this weekend at Silver Dollar city.
got to check out his axes, noticed the handles were shimmed out on top and bottom in the eye to take up the slack. he preferred 28 inch handles.
he said he used files to sharpen the edges

looking forward to seeing this old axe come back to life
