Has anyone actually used a Worden tactical folder (large) and developed an opinion about it? I've had one for over a week and am baffled by the design - especially as a tactical folder. One problem I have is that the pocket clip is on the opposite side and end of the knife necessary to pull the knife out of a pocket, index to the thumb slot and open the blade to a positive lock. Second is that the locking mechanism (inside the liner locking bar that engages the back end of the blade) doesn't positively lock against the unfinished and rounded back edge of the blade (and yes, I did look inside with a lighted magnifier). Third is that with my thumb in the indexing slot, pushing forward along the long axis of my thumb doesn't open the blade... I have to push outward and flick the knife to get it to positively open. Fourth, if I just open the blade (non-flick), the lock doesn't deeply engage the back end of the blade and I have to manually open the blade about 1/32" in order for the lock to move over a bit to more fully engage. I'm not new to tactical folders and have carried several brands over the years so it's not that I'm "new" to this design. Also, I'm a fairly mechanical fellow with tool usage in a variety of trades so it's not like I'm all thumbs. Any comments?

Yeah, this knife has some room for improvement as I've encountered the same problems that you mentioned. Although, for the price, I am satisfied with the general feel that it has. The "positives" is the weight distribution. It feels great in a sabre grip and almost as good in a hammer grip. What I like most is that I can "choke" down on the handle and it has a solid hack-type cut where it pivots between my thumb and the base of my forefinger. Also, when closed, its use can be somewhat similar to the Spydie Gunting model. If I could improve one thing it would be the locking system. I can whack it on my hand and it collapses quite easily. Bummer.
FM.
