I am interested in the Worden Tactical from Timberline knives.I was wondering about the quality of Timberline knives? I have never owned a knife made by them or handled one either.

I had a large Timberline Wortac, but gave it to a friend after deciding it was a bit too bulky to carry. Timberline made some obvious cost-cutting moves in picking the blade steel and handle materials, and by blasting the blades instead of polishing, but none of these affect the useability of the knife, and I thought it was a reasonable value for the money, and overall the quality was maybe a bit higher than i would have expected for the price.

I have a large one and I think it's an outstanding bang-for-buck folder. It looks very "purpose driven," but it's great utility knife as well. It travels between my glove box and under my bed.

It has a very nice heft to it. Very well constructed knife. The sharpness out of the box wasn't great, but it's no big deal. The fit and finish was also very good. There are plenty of good knives in its price range, but the Wortac would be a great choice.

Yeah, a little bulky for EDC, but it is a well-designed knife. It feels great in sabre grip...well-balanced and good weight. The only problem with mine is that the lock is not very strong. I can actually smack the spine and it will fail.
Careful with thrusts.

I have the large one. I carried it for a couple of months at work. It is a very solid knife. It came faily sharp the handle is very heavy because of a large (wide) metal spine that runs the length of the handle.
The Zytel handle is a little too smooth for my personal taste and the weight is kinda on the heavy side but all in all a good knife for the $$. I would have liked to see Timberline make a more "up scale" version with perhaps G-10 for a handle material and maybe a tool steel for a blade.

I agree with the above. I have the large version, and find it a little large and heavy for EDC due to the hefty handle. The blade also whips out with minimal coaxing so I'm worried about having it in pocket although I suppose I could tighten the pivot screw. Anyhow, I have a buyer for it who is happy to take it off my hands. Very nice knife though. Timberline quality is generally high. Excellent grip/retention for snap cuts (fighting - what it's designed for) and amazing value - I paid $43 plus shipping.
