Wording on CS Recon 1?

I am looking to pick up a Recon 1 with cts-xhp steel. It occurs to me that some with "cts-xhp" printed on the blade while others not. Is that true? Is there any difference between them (other than with/without the word cts-xhp)?

CTSXHP is printed on all of the blades. There were only a few - years ago at the start of XHP production that did not have the steel marked. BHQ is using an old photo.
Newer one are flat ground and that's most likely that you'll get. If you're concerned you'd have to check with the retailer.
For 2018 S35VN is taking the place of XHP. The product number is changing too.

I think Recon 1 used to be hollow ground.

All the new Recon 1 and American Lawman models will transition to saber grind, with proper sharpening choil. Cold Steel rep confirmed with me via instagram.

The cts-xhp Recon 1 from bladehq arrived earlier than scheduled Unfortunately, right out of box it has slight vertical blade play. With other brands I know vertical play is not easy to get rid of. Any tricks with the tri ad lock?

My plan is to return it unless some experienced folks suggest an easy fix.
