hi Guys,

I got a new computer with windows 8.1, and want to install wordperfect on it. I'd appreciate any advice. I hope this is the right forum for this question,

Moved to correct forum.

Assuming the program supports Windows 7, the installation should go smoothly, and as normal. If you have any issues, send me an email or PM with the version of the program and the install issue; I'd be happy to help you out with it. (I work in tech support.)

Best,
Thomas

Do you already own WordPerfect? If so, it's easy to check if the version you have is compatible with Win 8. If it's not compatible, you'll to upgrade to a version that is.

tchapman, thanks, I'll probably take you up on your kind offer. I've searched the net and saw sites offering free wordperfect downloads compatible with win 8. I didn't do it because I wasn't sure it was safe.

I have come to the conclusion that I would rather pay for software that I know is not full of ad ware than download some free version that my computer virus protection hiccups on.

I used to love Word Perfect, but migrated to MS Word. I still have WP on one computer if I need to open some old files.
