As usual, I'm behind most folks keeping myself informed about certain makers, and what segment of the market they are aiming at... Mike, I spent some nice, relaxing, YouTube time last evening watching your videos... I enjoyed them very much, but more importantly I wanted to tell you I learned a ton.. You speak slowly and clearly, and with the visual thrown in, I was soaking in a lot of information... This folder featured in your post is going to be a top shelf knife, no doubt... Best Regards, Rich Slaughter

It's my pleasure. :) I do have a question, how is the clip atached? Just two pins or are there screw under the liner? Regardless it's looking great!

Best

Thanks K.
The pocket clip is threaded and the screws come in through the Zirconium Scale.
The screw heads are countersunk into the Zirconium.
Thanks again for your interest in my work
Much Respect.

Another beauty there Mike. I love the way the pocket clip contours with the front of the scale and fits in with the overall profile. Awesome lockup and detent on that one too. I envy the guy who ends up with this piece.

Thank you! The lack of the two screws really helps the lines flow. :)

That is SMOKIN' my friend....extraordinary materials and, with your outrageous skills, that's one of the most visually striking folders I've seen in quite sometime buddy.

That´s a gorgeous knife and easily identifiable as a Snody. Would you mind explaining why you choose zirconium for the back scale? I am not familiar with this metal and its properties.

Thanks

Brian

I really appreciate your post.

I chose Zirconium because it is cool and very dangerous.

Zirconium is becoming hugely popular on knives and jewelry.
It is a reactive metal which can be colored black.

AKS introduced it to our sector a few years ago.

It is extremely dangerous to work with.

May ignite spontaneously and burn with explosive violence. Ignitable by static electricity. Small amounts of moisture may promote the ignition of zirconium. Continues to burn despite immersion in water and does so with greater intensity than in air. Used to make corrosion-resistant alloys, in pyrotechnics, and for many other uses.

May ignite on contact with air or moist air. May burn rapidly with flare-burning effect. Some react vigorously or explosively on contact with water. The severity of the pyrophoric reaction depends a great deal on zirconium particle size, with the finely divided material reacting with the most vigor. The initiation of the explosion has been spark and by electrostatic ignition. Zirconium dusts have been known to explode

Some may decompose explosively when heated or involved in a fire. May re-ignite after fire is extinguished. Runoff may create fire or explosion hazard. Containers may explode when heated.

Fire will produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Inhalation of decomposition products may cause severe injury or death. Contact with substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes. Runoff from fire control may cause pollution

so, you'd want zirconium in your pocket why?

Thanks for posting.

It is safe now because of the finished thickness and the oxide coating I created.

A Zirconium fire is more difficult to extinguish than a Uranium or Plutonium fire.

You have to be very careful in the shop working with this material.
Have a great evening.
Much Respect.
