Knifemaker Jeff Conte recently made me "A Soldier's Knife", an original Conte fixed blade design in D2 tool steel. Jeff and I are old, old friends. He is a combat decorated Special Forces medic (Gulf War) and was featured in Fighting Knives magazine. Jeff and I still jump together, and my "Soldier's Knife" is both very special and very appropriate given the work we do. I'll be posting my eval of the Conte ASK soon...
We are at war and war requires exceptional weapons and weapons skills. The ATC tomahawk (VN) has proven itself to be perhaps one of the finest modern cutlery weapons presently available for the field soldier / Marine. It's taken me more than several weeks to wring the test piece sent me by Andy Prisco, as well as comparing it against the collector grade piece I bought from Brigade Quartermaster (I don't collect 'em, I use 'em). This eval up next on the Forum...
Carry gear is both very personal and very important. I'm sold on the Tactical Tailor (Tacoma, Washington) and have been using / recommending Logan's growing product line for over a year now. Will be posting his contact info and offering some insights into some very hot items that are presently seeing hard use by our special ops folks to include the rangers and Special Forces. This is premium grade design + extraordinary craftsmanship Made in the USA (really, not just advertised as such) by folks who know and care about what they're doing and providing to those who "go and do"...
Strider Knives are blowing me away design and craftsmanship wise. The Forum is working with four models to include a Strider folder. Simple in appearance, these are incredible edged tools, weapons, and instruments. Cutlery for warriors is not an understatement in the case of Mick Strider's bladeware and design integrity. Look for more on this coming up...
Bob H. at Survival Sheath Systems informs me that he will soon be offering sheath and scabbard work for BaliSong folders. That's simply a "must have" in my book. Butterfly users take note...
