I see where the Kazak sharpening system has an available led work light, and that it appears to be an excellent add-on for tired eyes. Is there anything available for Hapstone, or can anyone recommend an aftermarket light that they use on their sharpening bench?

777edge mentioned in another post that gearconnect may have lights for the hapstone in the near future and that you may want to email them and ask.

Any little led desk lamp with a flex neck and taller than the work space should fine. I like the idea of it built in, but I just use a desk lamp. 10 bucks at Wally World

There are all sorts of rechargable LED book lights for $10-15 dollars, as well as headlamps. Or, if you have enough iron nearby a rechargable work light.
Those book lights have little clamps and a gooseneck.

Getting a good LED reading light is probably going to be good. you want something with consistent output, if it has any flicker at all, it'll be really tough on your eyes. In an ideal world, an incandescent is really ideal here but a good full-spectrum LED is the next best. If you wave the light around quickly in the dark and see any strobe, find something else.

I have a couple of goose neck LED lights with a magnetic base. Got the ones that plug in so I don't have to worry about batteries.

After being in touch with Gritomatic recently, it seems that they will soon be selling articulated arms and lights for most sharpening systems. Hapstone, TSProf, KME, Work Sharp Precision Adjust to name a few. Hopefully soon!

I've used headlights and clip-on lights in the past and nothing works as well as the concept of an articulated arm with a small rechargeable floodlight (like they use on the Kazak Pro Black system I have), so this will be the way to go for other systems too.

You can really place the small floodlight exactly where you want it for best edge visibility and it does not interfere with your sharpening. It works far better than a separate desk lamp with articulated arm.

I’m making do with an old articulated fluorescent magnifying light for now. Glad to hear that Gritomatic is going to start carrying the Kazak style of lights.

The LED work light never made my eyes tired in a semi-dark room. You may have set your LEDs to too cool a shade of white, you know. I set my LEDs from https://www.vont.com/product/vont-bulb-color-smart-light-bulbs-smart-bulbs/ to a warm shade. To tweak the lighting in the Kazak sharpening system, you'll need to find the light settings. If your LEDs or bulb are from the smart series of LEDs, you can adjust their shade even on your phone. You can open the palette and send the slider to the red shades to do this. Just as your phone has Night Shift, your work light should have a mode that helps your eyes get less tired.

I'm pretty sure I can arm wrestle with a Moffat shop lamp......

It's adjustable arm is super strong and supportive. We have them on machines in the shop at work. I doubt there is better.
Perfect lamp.
I wanted one with a cord, I definitely don't want a rechargable.
The ones at work are probably over thirty years old.

I Love mine.
It has quick detachable base, comes with many mounting options.
I might hang mine from the ceiling upside down?
It was expensive (around $60) I'd buy it again in a second if I needed another.
