My 77 y.o. father in law has asked me to research his buck knife. It is marked as shown with 813^ on the main blade of three folding blades with what appears to be a brown bake-lite handle marked also with "Buck Work-Man" on both sides at the bottom. The main blade has an almost duck bill appearance but is straight in the spine. It comes with a leather sheath case marked "Buck" on the leather as well as the snap.
This is a case of lost memories with this knife, he cannot remember when or where he got it or why it is important to him. So he hopes if I can find out at least how old it is, or some details, it will help him remember himself. Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

hello there with the date stamp you indicated that makes it a 1988 model i am not sure of the years produced or production numbers some others on this forum may be able to help with that but i recently bought one on ebay in mint condition for about $40 hope this helps you some

Thank you. I will relay the info, anything is a help at this point. The collection this man has amassed since 1930 is staggering, every description and handle, it is not surprising he cannot remember the origins of one. I will try to keep you in mind when he passes, which seems imminent, I have no use for all these knives.
