I wanted to know if anyone has used this sharpener to sharpen busse and kins? I'm thinking of getting it instead of the edge pro.

I have one. It works well. Stones probably will put a sharper edge on a knife ultimately, but the KO Work Sharp is very fast and pretty versatile. Many people will advise practicing on junkers before working on your nice knives. This is sage wisdom. You can remove a lot of metal quickly with the Work Sharp. I have used mine on my ASHBM, which is the only Busse I own. I have also used it on kitchen knives, ESSE, Buck, axes, hatchets, etc. Works good on all of them.

I own the WorkSharp KO edition -- I'm curious to know what edge angle setting you used for your ASHBM -- I wish I could put a 40 degree angle (20 each side) -- but it's too thick of a knife to do so comfortably/well

The WorkSharp KO is awesome and does a quick solid job. I find it particularly practical to use with choppers. It puts a consistently clean paper cutting/shaving sharp edge. Reduces sharpening time significantly.

That being said --- I see no way the WorkSharp can compete with the Edge Pro or Wicked Edge Sharpeneer. Both the Edge Pro and Wicked Sharp can effectively provide a mirror polish edge that could whittle hair. Unfortunately, both these sharpening systems are way more expensive.

Hi, Rob
I usually take the angle thingy off and free hand it, so I can't say for sure.

Alll these will curl little spirals off the edge of phone book paper (though the BWM takes some concentration to do so as it was sharpened at 25degs per side with chopping in mind) ...

All were finished up on a strop.

I got one for Christmas and it does a great job. Got my CGFBM and Ratmandu shaving sharp at the 25 degree setting. Moved the setting to 20 degree for my Scrapyard INFI LE (forgot the blade name) and it is scary sharp as well. Nicely convexed edges in about 5 minutes. Took me days to achieve the same using sandpaper/mousepad technique.

Be sure to follow the instructions, especially about taking care stopping the belt with the tip of the blade in the middle or what have you.
