At around 6:42 did you say it came with an 800 grit belt or did you mean 80?

Regardless, nice demo for this sharpener; I'm probably going to get one soon, since my sharpening skills are mediocre.

yes, 80 grit. i didn't catch that myself until i watched it a few times, i'll have to annotate it. it comes with 80, 220 and 6000.

my mediocre sharpening skills are exactly why i got the work sharp as well :D

Interesting, the biggest question I have from this video is that unless the thing runs in two directions you are sharpening one side of the knife towards the spine and the other away from it?

Yes. One toward, one away. Unless you freehand without the guide, which I do with larger blades. It doesn't really make any difference with the edge that I have noticed, though.

it still develops the burr no mater which side of the knife you are sharpening so it doesn't seem to make much difference that the belt is moving the other direction.

Thanks for the review! Thinking about buying one, Do you think the Work Sharp can give thick, big blades like the Esee-5 a nice sharp edge?

i don't think it will have a problem with something like the esee-5. i sharpened a KA-BAR USMC fighting knife on it with no problem. i know that isn't quite as thick as the esee 5 but they are both 1095
