You can form a burr with the Work Sharp, yes. A few people on these forums use belt sanders and that's all the work sharp is, is a hand-held one. Are you considering the work sharp because you don't know anything about sharpening?
Yup, terrible at sharpening, so I bought a Worksharp about a month ago, get knives sharper than I have ever been able to. Just wondering if I am doing something wrong.
A few more alternating strokes on your 6000 grit belt should remove the burr created by the P220.
I assume too that you are using the sharpening guide, if not use a light surface pressure on the belt to remove the burr.

As with anything I follow up the worksharp 6000 belt with a good stropping! Not sure if it's the answer you're looking for, but it works for me. My edges last as long as any other method I use.
