Work Sharp Precision Adjust

Report back. I hand sharpen just fine but have always wanted a guided system to try out and don’t want to drop an absolute ton of money

Will do. I can hand sharpen, but guided systems have a place (IMHO) and I am only out about $70 on this.

First of all, I splurged after taking the pic and bought the upgrade kit. That said, I took the WSPA on its maiden run with my usual victim of new sharpening gizmos, my Spyderco Native 5 in S30V. First impressions are good. It could use a heavier base (I may mount it to something), and like all single clamp systems, there’s a very slight wiggle. That said, it laid down a mean 17* angle in a relatively short time. I took about an hour with it, but I was changing the angle of the edge, and that always takes a little longer. I didn’t give me a mirror finish and I’m not sure it can, but I’ll absolutely be using it again.

I have one but find I need to put a paper binder clamp on the screw above the angle bar to prevent it from moving & changing the angle as I run the stones back and forth. I only use it when I am determined to get a consistent angle, as opposed to "good enough" on bench stones which is much quicker.

Thank you for the binder clip advice. Turns out, that info was just what I needed today.
For small knives the Spyderco Sharpmaker works well.
I’ve been eyeballing those, too.
