What is a good pair of workboots that I could get at a fleet supply place for under 60$ 60 is my top limit. I'm going to be working with the conservation corps for a month and need a good durable pair of boots. Any ideas?

I've found $200 boots for half off on the clearance rack or at end of season sales. Best thing to do is to hit the stores and see what is on the clearance racks. For $60, I've got pretty good service out of Wolverines. Better if you can get the Dura-Shok soles.

Work boots or duty boots? Which is it? Like steel toe work boots? Plenty of those under $60. Look around before going to Walmart, walmart definitely has some but you could find better out there. Look for a big shoe warehouse.

If youre talking about just a tough boot, look into some good hiking boots or actual duty boots as they are sold. Bates and magnum have boots only slightly over your price range

Work boots. I'm going to be working outdoors for my job for a month. I bought a wallmart pair and then read all the half a star reviews so I'm returning it later today.

I have found that I tear up boots about every six months regardless of the brand. Nike, Red wings, Bates tactical, and Walmart special all gave out in under a year, the key I found is really good inserts and break them in at home. Wear them around the house for a couple hours at a time for about two weeks before actually wearing them for a full workday.

I usually tear boots up in 6-12 months too, however I bought a pair of Terra boots and they lasted me for over 2 and a half years. I bought two more pairs. 220.00 cad a pair. Highly recommended.

I bought some ad tecs for 75 that have good reviews. Certainly seem better made than those Wally World ins, and thu were only 15 more.

I will never buy cheap boots ever again, you end up paying for it in the long run.

Agree 100%

I bought a pair of cheap Walmart work boots years ago and they were the most uncomfortable pieces of shit I've ever had. Felt like i was walking on bare ground. If you pair them with some sole padded inserts then they may be tolerable, but they still won't hold up long.

After I bought my pair of solomons I realized that higher price actually does equal higher quality when it comes to boots. Even when I tried on a pair of $80 Colombia hiking boots recently they were so uncomfortable compared to the $160 Salomons I had.

If you really are tight on money and have to get something cheap I would suggest a pair of sole inserts to go with them so they aren't too uncomfortable.

If you wear out boots often then next time you go boot shopping go to Drewsboots and let them put you in a pair of firefighting boots. You will never look at footwear the same again.

I would go with better work boots and I assume you're talking about hard toe boots. You are going to be wearing them a lot in the next month. If you have a Red Wings store, I would pay them a visit. You can always wear them for other things. I have a pair of 6" Irish Setter traditional hard toe boots that ran about $100. Irish Setter is one of the Red Wing brands. They may have some things on sale. Try whatever you buy on and walk on them in the store to get at least a feel. There may be some break in on the traditional work boots in terms of comfort.

I have tolerated cheap work boots and your feet pay a price, sometimes a big price. Generally the tennis shoe type "boots" are the more comfortable, but they don't last as long.

I will look into them but they have to be all black, steel toe, and able to be shined.

Worn them all day for the past couple days and my feet feel fine. Seems pretty good quality too.

Big 5 sporting goods sells their RG (Response Gear) black steel toe duty boot for under $50. I had a pair with the side zipper that held up well on a construction site for around a year....

I work in that field, I can tell you right now, if you're going to be working around any kind of marsh, swamp, bog, etc. no typical work boot will be comfortable for long and putting on soggy or crusty work boots the next day is about the most unpleasant way to start your day. I like Muck work boots, they clean off easily and are good for just about anything, a little out of your price range but there are knock off brands that can be had in the 50-60 range. Make sure you get the right kind for the season. Failing that, the $10 rubber knee high boots from WalMart work just fine for wet conditions, I recommend one of these options if there is any possibility of working in a squishy habitat. I recommend the Mucks or knock offs because they can be worn in forest as comfortably as in a marsh.
