I love my LCC as I've clearly stated before but decided tonight I didn't care for the bolsters very well. I could see machine marks (faintly) and didn't care for them. I decided (knowing it would probably void the warranty) to remove them and make a change. I first began sanding them with 360 grit wet/dry paper. Smoothed them out well but still didn't like the look. Polished one on buffing wheel and still didn't like. So I bead blasted them and they look great. Better than new. They are brighter, smoother, and as of now don't seem to scratch like before. They might later but they just seem so much nicer than when it was new. I love it. Wish I could post a picture. Just thought I'd pass this along, Dave

My bead-blast LCC is serial# 1942 and it was made in September, 2000. While the bolster appears to be one shade darker than the blade, they seem polished with the same grit. This knife is my daily carry; it rides in blue jeans, gets left in my locker at the gym, gets bumped, etc. There is NOT one scratch on the bolster. Never assume, but I just assumed that the titanium was hard enough, and the polish coarse enough to hide routine wear. As I stated in another thread, after three weeks of carry, the knife is starting to feel 'pocket worn,' which I like. However, with your daily carry, you make peace with the honest dings.--OKG
