I'm in a real bad need of thinning out my knife collection, and still picking and choosing a few to list.
Conveniently I have some pics of this one...
What I've got is a Lauri blade from Finnland that I did the handle on. The blade is 3 3/4 inch carbon steel with a differential temper. The spine of the blade is at a rockwell hardness of 52 and the edge is at 63
I've tested a few of these blades, and they are truly hell bent for stout, brutally tough, and very sharp.
The handle was done with a brass guard, Black Walnut, stainless steel, spacer material, and a piece of wood I THINK is actually a piece of Mahogany burl. I do know for sure that it's a very tough hardwood. The tang was roughed up, and the handle secured with a good 24 hour two part epoxy.
The sheath is very basic, and a bit crudely done, but well stitched, and VERY secure.
Since I'm really not a highly experienced knife maker, I can't guarantee it to be beautiful, but I can guarantee that it's a hell bent for stout little package; especially as far as traditional knives go.
If you go here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/karieann69/my_photos
It's the top one in the very first picture, and can be seen alone as photo #7.
If I can get $70 for it, I'll break even on materials, and make about half the wage of an illegal Mexican fruit picker for my time invested.
If interested, drop an email to mkjray@mtaonline.net
Thanks for looking, and I'm sorry for being so long winded...(Just wanted to be up front about what I'm selling)
