I thought I had posted something about this a while back but I did a search and it came up empty.
Anyway, I've got several deer leg bones in my shop that I want to use for hidden tang handles but I know practicly nothing about either hidden tangs or bones. The first order of business is the bones. All I know about working it is that you have to wear a respirator. How dry do they have to be? How stable are they for use on handles? How do I have to treat/seal them after I work them?
As for hidden tangs, how thick should the bolsters/butcaps be? What's the best way to fit the bolsters to the blade without a vertical mill? What else should I know?

Thanks,
Chris
