1976 C-series Browning built by a well known shop. Bar-Sto tube, C&S no-bite hammer, sear and safety. Wolff springs (18# recoil and 32# main) Spiegel thin grips round out the package. Reliability package and trigger/sear work as well as magazine diconnect removed (but pin replaced to hide the job). No fancy finish (I love worn blue) nor aftermarket sights. Nothing that can be returned to stock. 25yd accuracy is boringly consistant at roughly 1.5 inches for a 5 shot string (supported on a rest) shooting WWB. This is my no frills EDC gun and I have found nothing that "points" as well as this thing (even my fancy 1911s).

Thats a great looking Hi Power Marty. Very classic...
I would have to agree about them being very comfortable. The design is such that it feels like it was made just for you. Very fun pistols share that quality

Oh man! Vintage and classic!

(I actually have a pic when I was a five Y/O holding my grandfather's pistol who was WW2 USN veteran).

There is something very appealing about Hi-Powers. The look, the feel, I don't know what it is. I own examples in 9mm (as God intended) and .40, and somewhere on my list of things to do some day is to get the 9mm modded a little with a new thumb safety, etc. Good stuff.

Here is an interesting little book/manual/review on Hi-Powers that is worth a read.

My brother used to have a Hi-Power. That was a sweet, sweet gun. Nice ergos, nice fit and finish, just an all around great pistol. Ever since then, I have wanted to add one to my collection, but have just never got around to it.

Yours looks like a great example of that great firearm.

That's a handsome gun! I really like the finish. As some other posters said, it's a classic.

That's fantastic. Hi-Powers are wonderful pistols, and true classics.

God bless John Moses Browning :D.

Very nice. Other than 1911s there is no other pistol that feels as good in the hand. I hope you don't mind, but here is a picture of my Mark III Standard.

Love your idea of upgrading the gun without turning it into some $2000 pimp gun.

If I still had my HP I would do similar and I would have upgraded the sights to something more visible and left the barrel stock assuming there wasn't anything wrong with it.

Very nice!!

I also have an older Belgian but it hasn't been tricked out with a Bar Sto or the like. With the weight of a full steel frame, they are incredibly comfortable to shoot. Even more than my Sig P226.

nice Browning, Marty, I love the lines on the hi-power Do you shoot at Gig Harbor, or KRRC?
Gig Harbor on occasion but mostly BullsEye. Been out to the Marksman a few times as well as Tacoma Rifle. Give a shout if ever headed to the range- I always need an excuse to burn up some ammo.

The Hi-Power is a true classic. The first handgun I ever fired was a Hi-Power. I don't like the magazine safety that really makes for a rough trigger pull. Everything else is perfect.

I accurized mine ,even replaced the bushing [yes it has a bushing !] tightened the frame/slide. S&W kit gun sights.Checkered front and back straps ,custom grips. Very accurate yet very practical .Sadly I no longer have it .

Beautiful piece! My first deployment to Iraq was rewarded with a smoking deal I found on a Browning imported BHP as a redeployment gift...deep blue and with G10 thin grips, it just melts into my hand. Accurate, reliable and a sheer pleasure to carry concealed! I added some night sights and it too is a great working pistol.
