Okay chaps sorry to bore you with a other of my you tube vids..

Just a video I made looking at the sort of firesteels I make..I use mostly wood,antler or bone for the handles.

Nicely done. Nice lanyards too. The furry one is definitely unique. I'd epoxy some thin copper or brass over the raw end so that it is easily dented/tarnished/scratched. Maybe add some small nails to make it appear tacked on.
