For a long time I never had a shop, workbench, or real tools, now that I do I am finding myself modding just about everything it seems.

Took the thumb ramp and pommel off my BK9, and added some traction to the Bk13 and made room for my index finger.

Next on deck for mods, BK10...

Dare I remove the thumbramp and pommel on my 77, it is my favorite knife and ill be taking it to my grave.... Maybe I should think on it some.

No, not on the 77. That was a limited run knife, and should not be modded. Keep it as it is, and people will not ridicule you to tears for it. :D

Looks awesome! And permanently modding a knife that you can't replace is a big risk. Just buy a 7 and mod your heart out!

True, I just really like the clean lines and feel of a becker without the thumbramp and pommel.

Thats a nice looking 13 man! And a far as the 77 goes it's not just a knife it's YOUR knife so do what you want. Why not take a sweet knife you love and make it cooler and more yours? go for it!!!

Nice work on the 13. As long as your keeping it forever mod away on the 77, can't say I would do it though.

It's your knife and someone here would certainly buy it - ramp or no...

(besides, it's not like a 77 is worth thousands of dollars)

Like the BK-10?

C'mon, we know you have a box full of those laying around somewhere in your underground vault :D. That's probably his only BK77.

I'd say perform any mods you're thinking of on a regular 7 as a trial run (if you haven't already). That way if you change your mind or want to tweak your idea a bit it'll be on a $60 knife. Probably only get 1 shot on modding your 77.

Nice work Wider. The jimping on the 13 is about as good as it gets.

Since it's a knife you plane to take with you to the grave I'd say do with it as you feel best.

Good stuff so far:thumbup:

What did you use to take the pommel off? Maybe a belt sander?

Since the 77 was a limited run, I'd have an awfully hard time taking a grinder to it, or doing anything but leaving it stock (unless you have two of course!)

What all are you using to do this work? I see dremel stuff in the background, so you must be using some of that. Any files or other tools? I'm thinking of doing some jimping on my bk11 and am trying to figure out the best route.

Its a combination of the Dremel, large and small files, and some jeweler diamond files.
