working OT for knives

How many knifenuts work OT so you can buy more knives? I recently worked 2 extra days to get a mnandi. All my knives this year have been funded by OT. Thank goodness for OT.

When I work OT I could buy 2 Mnandi's if I so choose. Not bad for 12 hours of sometimes having to actually do something like say, fight a fire. Most of the time I do nothing. Especially on a night shift OT tour. Since Jan 2006 I have worked 6 OT shifts. 6 OT shifts x the price of 2 Mnandi's = Mucho Dinero. It was enough to fund a vacation for my wife to Paris this May with plenty of $$$ to spare. Now that she's a stay-at-home mom she deserves a break. She'll be bringing me back a knife of course.

No argument there. Especially when the Mrs, says why do you need another knife? OT helps to pay for the knife but getting the package from the mailbox and slipping it into the house before the wife sees it makes for more peacefull harmony.

Speaking of sneaking packages into the house, I did my co-worker the favor and used my credit card to order 2 knives for him and shipped it to my house so his wife would not find out. Thats what friends are for.

I used to work extra OT to buy guns. But part of this last OT I worked will go to that Case Trapper.

Main difference is with guns it takes a whole day of OT to pay for it while this knife will cost me less than an hour of overtime.

When I could get OT in the past few years, yeah I did it to help fund some knives. Since the holidays though there's been no OT and it's forced me to put some things on hold since it's taking longer to save.

My work-history for the past few years has been one extreme or the other. Either unemployed or pulling 12 hour shifts on a regular basis! But yeah, I've done that a couple of times. Although with me, it was always a case of wanting to add something new to my collection; but not knowing what it was until I got to the shop! (One of the horribly few, good things, about living in NYC is that you don't have to buy your knives from a catalog or over the internet. You can find everything in NYC..... whether or not you can afford it; that's another story).

I'm on salary... Don't get OT pay.
I do, however, freelance sometimes to earn extra cash. Unfortunately, nearly all of my money goes to the bills.
