I like this stuff as it works with standard wood working belts and tools. Rather than using my belt or disc sander to thin it down, I was thinking I would rather mill it to size with my drill press and a sliding vice. I'm guessing I should turn down the speed of the drill press for this to keep the heat down. My drill press will let me turn the spindle speed down to less than 200 rpm. What speed do you think will work the best? Is there a better way to thin a block of this stuff down? I like the drill press/milling idea because I think I will get better control and it woulld be safer (keeping my digits away from the moving belt

Thanks for the help.

The drill press may not be the right tool . I would use the belt sander with a coarse grit to rough it..
