working s30v?

any special way to work with s30v using stock removal? also where can I get hardening, heat treating instructions for this steel?

Use fresh belts. I know you hear this all the time on any knife, but for S30V it's the real deal. If you want a mirror finish, expect to take 2 to 3 times longer to finish it (with fresh belts) as say ATS-34. The darn stuff really holds onto a scratch so go easy on the big grits when profiling. Cutting it and rough profilig the grind is no different than ATS-34 other than it will cut/grind a bit slower. It will dull a drill bit a little quicker than ATS-34 also. It's no big deal to work with, it's just a bit tougher.

Its also high in vanadium compared to some others so don't breath the stuff.
