I have a question, when working down a handle and I have red spacer
under the handle, when I am working it down the red spacer wants to
flaten out and not grind clean it looks like it is melting
and it make the handle look bad,how do I fix the problem
Thanks

If you can't slow your grinder way down, just wrap your finishing sandpaper around a hard backing and hand finish it. When in doubt, back to basics.
Buff it very lightly with a loose buff.

I always thought that the liner melting a bit was a nice bonus. It fills in the small gaps. If it melts over to much, I just ignore it and shave the extra off with a sharp utility blade when I'm done. Usually though, I've found that a light touch on the wheel at slow speed trims it off for me. The slow speed doesn't melt the liner.

thanks guys
I was practicing on a 1x42 with some scrap to see how to shape my handles.I have a KMG I am getting the V/S motor wired on thursday
I thought it may be the speed,so I will have not problem once I get to
slow the speed down on it.I will finaly get to see what it feels like to work with some good equipment.
Thanks Again.:) :)
