I bought some mokume to use for a folder bolster.
brass, copper and nickel mixture
It has some pattern and coloring to it.

How is mokume processed in knife making?
sand, polish and buff?
or is it torched for color?

thanks

Never bought Mokume, I would assume it would come ready for use, but in mine, I usually sand to about 1000, then use liver of sulfur or Baldwin's patina to darken the copper/brass and bring out more contrast.

After everything is finished, give it a quick etch to make the colors bold. It would darken in a few weeks anyway, but a little vinegar or dilute FC will make it happen immediately.
