WorkSharp 2000 Knife Sharpening System

Its more for a wood worker and I don't know how well it would work for knives. Most wood working tools have only one bevel and almost all knives have two, unless you can make the disc spin in both directions this is where you will have your problem.
 
Yup. It's primary purpose is for woodworking tools. They do make a Knife Sharpening Attachment, but I would consider it only if I had a WorkSharp and wanted to sharpen the occasional knife... I wouldn't buy it as a knife sharpener.

I am looking for something as a primary knife sharpener......size matters as well as cost....I figured this was small enough and the cost was ok with the attachment.

Amy recommendations folks???
 
To answer your question, yes the Edge Pro is a great sharpener that most who purchase it are very happy with.

But there's a lot of decent ways to sharpen a knife, so providing a bit more info might help to better narrow it down. (Things like type of knives, how many, where you'll sharpen, how quickly you want to get the job done, etc.) For example, no sense buying an Edge Pro, if all you want to do is keep your pocket knife sharp... a Lansky or DMT Aligner might fill the need.

Well....i am a avid hunter and knife collector. I have hundreds of knives from pocket all they way up to as long as the Swamp Rat Waki. I have been sharpening knives for years but have always had a problem with maintaining proper angle and change the grind on certain knives. I will sharpen on average 5 knives a week and possibly more.....I enjoy doing it just looking for a way to make my life easier and be more productive.

I just watched the video on the KME. It looks very similar to the Edge Pro and much more affordable.
 
While the KME may meet your needs, it differs from the Edge Pro in that it uses a clamp to secure the knife. The knife is not clamped on the EP allowing you to easily sharpen a wider variety of knives, being able to move longer blades, and maneuver the knife based on its shape. Whether it's a pro or con depends on your point of view, but it's a significant difference worth pointing out.
